#28 closed enhancement (duplicate)

Proper Python types for bytea and date values

Description

Currently, Pygres returns bytea and date/timestamp values as strings.

I think returning file streams for bytea and date/datetime objects for date/timestamp values, as implemented in psycopg2, is a much better solution.
